The foundation year of the Biscuiterie Nantaise. Barely a year later, in 1897, the company was dissolved and taken over by Pierre Cossé and Pierre Pelletreau. The start of «the BN» success story begins with its first star biscuit, the Petit Breton, followed by its famous Madeleines, wafers, boudoirs and macaroons. In 1902, the biscuits factory was destroyed by a huge fire resulting in an abrupt stop of the production lines during 4 months. But BN bounces rapidly back in a new factory, built in concrete, considered as a revolutionary material at the time. André Lotz succeeds to Pierre Pelletreau as CEO of the company.
